  1. You get that from your boet's article for tomorrow?
  2. Hi Tim, I know it's cheating. I'm saying let's apply the same rules across all disciplines of cycling. This must happen from the top down. Either the federation or SASCOC or Drug Free or someone prescribes the rules. Not different rules for different races. Either we test everybody, licence or not or the rules are clear that it's only licenced riders or whatever the rules say. I have heard cyclists say, "I don't have to be tested...". If I have a day licence and someone pulls me out of Z bunch you bet your ass I don't have to pee. So let the rule be the same across the board. that's all.
  3. Honestly. Obviously he likes the gym, wants to get his pecs to pop out a bit. Decided he wanted the challenge of a race, was never going to win. This is like testing a guy in P bunch at Argus just because he looks a bit swollen. If you told me that everybody who raced Epic had to have a racing licence then fine, test the oke in 245th position.
  4. You see, arguing on the internet? What for? They must have done a packet at NC today. What did you guys do? Get bitter and twisted fighting amongst yourselves about who makes the best pseudo legal argument. Now poor Robox is threatening a self imposed exile. The Hub isn't the place for this. Go down there and have it out with The Russian. But this useless "look at us we're the centre of the cycling universe" crap. Good for nothing. Like I said earlier, if it were any good, The Hub would have closed at least half a dozen shops in Jhb alone. And that hasn't happened.
  5. I think it would have been better to resolve it there and then. 6 pages of whooohaaa. Like that will change anything? Like The Hub closed a bike shop? Cycle Lab is bigger than it ever was. Cajees sells more bikes than you fools imagine. Marco Swart assaults customers on a daily basis. Now you want to start with NC. Bla bla bla.
  6. Big step back? It's like throwing it in reverse at 140km/h!!!
  7. Hey, I know, after I posted that I thought, "What if denouncing DG is just a show..." It's an impossible situation I suppose. Either way. He has to come forward and make a statement to that effect. Keeping quiet is a terrible strategy.
  8. Come to think about it, he has lost his income unless he steps up and kicks the dopers in the proverbial nuts.
  9. All this talk about supporting Kevin and supporting Nedbank. In order for Nedbank to continue Kevin needs to step up to the plate and denounce his team mate. If he cant do that then I for one am not interested in supporting him or Nedbank. The message needs to be clear. He wasn't involved, he had no knowledge and most importantly that he is all for drug free sport, full dosclosures and transparency. Until that happens what makes you think he isn't prepared to lie to protect himself, his family and his income?
  10. Yes, that guy from Durban. Whatever his name was. Then again, Russell Lund of Cyclelab tested positive at Argus and that was very hush hush.
  11. Please elaborate on his "yuppie flu"? So he was sick, on death's door? no? Incapable of riding for a long time?
  12. What did Owen win? What advantage? Some guys are just plain crap even on juice. David George is a case in point. At least US Postal thought he was crap while being juiced to the max. Isn't that why they sent him packing?
  13. And they will get screwed over. I can't see this ending well. So what will i cost to train/skill this person. Just to give us some perspective and perhaps shed some light ont he chances of the candidate being refunded. If JB's course is R50K I feel the chances are slim at best. If JB's course is R500 then I see that shop lining up a few appies...
  14. Sadly, I have a diminished opinion of him after that outburst. If the people organising Paralympic sport or whoever the governing body is have a set of rules and the Brazilian was inside those rules then I'm of the opinion that OP should be charged with bringing the sport into disrepute.

    Team Bizhub

Anriette appeared as a guest rider for MTN at the Tour de Free State. Yes she signed with Mecer NMMU a while ago. Recently seen Cashandra Slingerland sporting Mecer kit. Not sure if Mecer NMMU and Mecer are the same thing but I hear they are team mates. Bizhub is still very active on the MTB scene. Not sure what the situation is with their road matters.
  16. @Grebel , ok, I was skimming. I had to waft through some serious BS... And when I got to the meat, well, seems it was all just sensationalism...
  17. That guy is a proper Mac Daddy! Came on here and put his **** out. I just read 13 pages of whoo haaa as if we were talking hardened criminals just to find out it's some guy who made an honest mistake. God, I just lost 8 minutes of my life that I will never be able to regain...
  18. Your own words... "represented your country well"... Now, what was the mission for London? A medal. Ashleigh Moolman was the medal hope and the others were selected to support her push for a medal. Ashleigh rode well, Jo didn't fulfill the task she was sent to do and neither did Robyn. So, lets assess their performances as individuals because as a team it wasn't stellar. Ash - Full marks. Jo - 70% (was there at the death but we needed them to be on the front for Ash). Robyn - Fail, she didn't contribute to the team effort. Let's not become champions of mediocrity. The performance was good, but definetely not excellent. At the end of the day we didn't have the firepower the Dutch and Brits had. They were on a mission and had a plan. We just rode with all our workers sitting behind the action unable to influence the race to give our medal hope a fighting chance. So it's not sour grapes, empty criticism... it's a balanced review of what I saw. We were outridden. Not interested in who was there, who should have been there. We were tactically inept considering we made a lot of fuss about racing as a team. Now go back and look at the way the Dutch and Brits raced.
  19. No, not quite excellent. I would say fair. Good at a push. De Groot should have stayed at home. Sent to be a worker and she sat at the back all day. So no, not excellent. We didn't get the maximum out of the team sent.
  20. Just by the way... on the topic of Cherise or any SA women going to race in Europe. Do you know we pay higher salaries than continental women's teams. Soooo, as much as you say go and prove yourself, there is little incentive since the salaries are either very small or none at all. Just ask Jennie Stenerhag. Seems we have created a monster in SA with high salaries. As it is the women racing for Lotto are heavily subsidised by CSA and their domestic teams. Lotto pays nothing for having them.
  21. Ja, goodness, I'd hate to be a Kenyan middle distance runner, their cup runneth over!
  22. First Ascent... SW... It's their own brand, they can charge what they want... And if they get the opportunity to mark it up 200% and get away with it they will...
  23. That story on the Bicycling site is a load of bull. Now Barry is trying to tell us what he thinks the selectors were thinking? Give me a break. They all must have had some discussion. He might not be a selector but I am damn sure he gave some input. Now he goes on Bicycling to distance himself from the selection? Why can't they get hold of the Road Commissioner but Barry was keen to volunteer his opinion? Oh ja, he is the team manager but he didn't get to choose who he is managing. Yes, it's clear. Clear as mud.
