best 29er for around 20000

I've just bought a Scott Spark Elite 29er and all I can say is WOW! The build quality on the frame is incredible!

 

Got an awesome deal on one on the Hub and added some 2012 American Classic wheels. All in all came in at R21k.

 

The Elites go for about R19,5 upwards depending on the bike shop. Well worth looking into!

Thanks guys will look at the Spark elite as a FS option. Being on the wrong side of 40 a FS is probably the way to go.

Agreed...The carbon Titan 29er race we can get for about R 17000, very good specs and great frame etc.

There's not much on the web about the Merida Big Nine 3000. Looks like a great bike for mid R20k's. Well spec'd with a great fork. Anybody got first hand experience?

I have a few mates that bought the Scott Spark aluminium 29 er DS for around R20 000 and they are VERY happy.

Looking to get myself a 29er at the R20000 mark. Either looking at the Merida Big.Nine 1200-D or the Silverback Storm 1.0.

 

Open to suggestions and advice.

Prefer the Silverback, but have a look at the Scott range for that budget as well.

in JHB try Morningside, Dunkeld or Linden - you should get stock from one of them?

Logic says Silverback but my heart is leaning towards the Merida.
