.............Don't want to put you off, just being realistic as you'll need to spend 10k plus at the least.

Mr weenie...if you had 10k to drop on something what would it be then?

What did you pay for Oscar? I assume you git it new? Did you get it locally?

Also, anybody hear about La Famaic machines?

10k locally from the distributor Alessandro at Tazadoro/Morico Imports. Great guy!

Still awaiting a price. Excuse the ignorance, what's a E61 group?

Its a grouphead design (big shiney nose type bit the portafilter hooks to) - originally by Faema - they have a few similar designs - E61, E63 and E67 I think - they look cool and work pretty well.

I quite fancy a 2 group Faema Legend E61 machine...

@Rouxie

For 10k... it's a difficult price point, as there is not much in that range at all - Maybe I would stretch it a bit and get an Isomac Tea.... for no other reason than I don't like the look of the Oscar - but they work much the same - BUT DO NOT FORGET THE GRINDER.... another 5k or so at least.

I used to own a Tea - so I know it well - that said there is NOTHING wrong with the Oscar - my brother has one...

http://www.importalia.co.za/domestic_office_isomac.html - the Tea is the cheapest HX based machine they make - Stay away from the smaller machines as they are all SBDU - which means waiting for steam every time you use it to make a milk drink - which can be very annoying.

Thanks. Keen on the Oscar, but also the LaFaimac Komby - because it comes with a grinder ( hope it's a solid one)

Still awaiting cost though :unsure:

I also assume its a Semi-auto machine.

I reckon I'm prepared to drop R15K on a grinder and machine - with hopefully no need to upgrade for a while!

Please don't buy a machine with the grinder built in :mellow:
