It is possible, however you would need a chain device to create the required tension.

Ideally though for running single speed you would require Horizontal drop outs. Unfortunately there is currently not a date to as or when this option will be available again.

Wish mine was a 16", then I'd gladly have helped you out. But I think you're at the top end of a 16 and low end of the 18. Maybe ask them if they think the 18 would work for you?

I asked on the forum and I agree with the answer Id rather get the right frame - if I am spending the money to build one 18 is just over the limit I think

How about wearing platforms when you ride?

 

I don't mind hanging on to mine (but as I said, if someone needs one urgently, I'd help a hubber out). It's intention is to be a future bike, so I'll take my sweet time in building and will be using parts I can source from anywhere for cheap, haha!
