FAIL. Was meant to link to the thread. But I went to see the movie last night. I will not lie - it took my already lofty expectations and promptly went BASH BASH BASH. Quite honestly the BEST movie I have seen in a looong time, and very deservedly sits in my top 3.

You'll get the ref to BASH BASH BASH when you watch the movie... Something to do with Loki...

hehe no worries, will hopefully get time to go watch it tomorrow after riding. I watched every trailer released for that movie!

Why not import directly yourself?

I imported my Titus frame from On-One myself. No problems at all.

yip that is what i am going to do  i am just looking at the total build costs now and building up a 29er will be much more expensive than a 26er as the secondhand parts (wheels and forks) for the 26er are plentiful and very inexpensive compared to the 29er options, analysis paralysis it always happens

You are a big guy, I'd go with the big wheels. I'm 6'4", ride an XL Inbred 29er, love that bike, my squishy 26er has not seen any action since I built the rigid 29er. Just my 2 cents worth... :)

True, i have decided to go with the 29er, will be placing the order to day hopefully  in your opinion, should i got for the L or XL, i think i might be right on the edge of the 19.5 (L) and dont want a foot long stem...

Think ill get the XL, then there is the fork, either one of the below:

or

I am not convinced on the rigid yet  i am heavy 105kg with kit, large build so ill probably be dropping 10kg - 15kg at most, so the rigid fork will be taking quite a beating (myself included hehe)

You probably are border line between the L and the XL, but I agree, if you go L you'll probably end up running a long stem. I have a 90mm stem, with some slightly (10 degree) swept bars, took some time to find the right combo, but now it's perfect.

Forks, I have some 9er steel rigid forks, that have quite a bit of "give" in them, paired with 2.25 tyres, it's adequately comfortable. I like the rigid for 2nd gear, makes standing climbing a lot easier...

I have just upgraded to a Rigid NIner fork and will be selling this OnOne carbon 29er fork. If you are interested make me an offer.

Hey Steve did you buy the Niner steel or carbon fork? I've been looking for one of the steel forks for my MCR but they're scarce and pricey.

I've spent quite a bit of time using an On One Carbon such as the one on your bike on both an On One Inbred 29 as well as a Niner MCR...there's absolutely nothing wrong with them...light, cheap and works a treat.

HDP - My buddy is around 6.2" and fits on a Medium Inbred 29" so I reckon you'd be OK on a large, depending on whether you want your bike to feel more like fun or more like barge. Perhaps keep in mind that the Inbred 29 isn't fond of an overly long stem.

Just to stir a little here

Spoke to the On-One boys/girls recently and we can expect another run of Ti 29'er inbreds in about 5 months time .... waiting on a thumbsuck price from them

Hi XTC1

I bought a carbon one. When it comes to buying stuff for a bike, emotions takes over and common sense flies out the back door. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the OnOne fork (it's given me nothing but pleasure) but just look at a Niner carbon fork, its a thing of beauty.

@ SteveS - thanks dude if 'n decide to go rigid ill let you know as i was looking at one of those as my rigid option.

@ Hairy - Ti now you are talking hopefully they dont come back with litespeed type pricing, i have always wanted to own a Ti bike

@ Stretched - hehe cool thanks

@ XTC - now i am confused the medium should be too small for him, i have quite a long torso, so you recon L should be fine? My Scot spark is a Large and the geometry is quite similar (on paper even though its a FS bike) and the fit is not that bad so now i dont know

Try and find someone with a similar sized frame in JHB. I used to ride a medium Scott and ended up on the 18" Inbred with a 70mm stem
