I heard an interesting development from a cycling buddie yesterday that some of you might want to consider before spending money on a new 29er (like me...lol).He says that he believes that some 26er's will be able to use the new 27er wheels (is it 27 or 27.5 !).

One might have to make a slight adjustment but it will cost a lot less than buying a brand new 29er.If this proves to be true,it might be worth the wait.

As a matter of interest,I am thoroughly enjoying my Scott 29er,there is no doubt it is faster and more comfortable than my 26er.I have had no problems on the technical stuff but cycled in our bike park in PE yesterday (Norm Hudlin) and found a few of the tight corners a bit tricky. This could simply be because it is the first time I have used it in this type of terrain. For my level of skill and ability,I am over the moon with it.

old news, plenty threads regarding this.

but yes with a lot of the fox forks its easy to convert.

some of the rockshox may work and the canondale lefty is an easy fit

going to be something to seriously consider when doing my build next year. Been grappling with the dilemna of changing to 29 or sticking with 26. If this is a reality i think i would sooner buy a frame and fork combo that fits both 26 and 27 rather than go for a 29 frame

The Shova's work with the 27.5 wheels and a revelation is also meant to work ... this for me is good news as I have both :)

I have often clipped the pedals on ST sections riding the Shova so I am hoping/thinking with a 27.5 wheelset it will raise the BB enough to clear this and not be "top heavy" ...

No rush though as I will wait and see what happens. I do like the idea of the larger wheel formats as my OnOne 29'er flipping rocks, even on tight ST.
