Hi

Help!!

...I am about to upgrade from a Hardtail to a new full susp. bike.

I have narrowed it down to a choice between the Scott Spark 50 (R14600) or Silverback Mercury 2 (R15990).

The Mercury has better spec's: (Rockshox Reba, and combination of XT/SLX with SLX shifters) but only has 100mm travel and is 1kg heavier.

The Scott has Rockshox Recon, XT /SLX and Deore shifters, but 120mm travel and lighter frame.

Have heard the Scott is also a particularly responsive ride and good on the tight switchbacks, and climbs like a hardtail when locked out.

Can't find any reviews on the Silverback....Any advice?

Scott is great. Comparing it to silverback is like comparing a BMW to a Hyundai/Kia. different level of machinery. (especially come resale time...)

I Changed from A hardtail Silverback to a Scott Spark Elite. Loveing it!! Scott over Silverback i my opinion.

Kinda comparing apples with oranges...

You are where I was a few weeks back. I went for the Scott Spark 29er Team (as no Elites available). I am loving it (but have not ridden a silverback before so cannot judge). One bike shop owner said to me (if this helps), "these days there are no bad bikes" (when comparing across a price range).

Personally though Silver back was not a choice for me (weight consideration was important for me, but not to the point of getting a carbon fibre option)
