Garmin Edge 500 Version 3.0 Software Ugrade Available!

The updates seem really simple. Log on to Garmin mydashboard, plug in your 500, click on update, follow the instructions.

I had no problems updating mine and used it at the Monster yesterday with no issues .....

Not sure if I'm losing the plot, but I have connected my device, logged into Connect but cannot see where I'm supposed to upgrade the software.Its driving me nuts

Download Garmin Web updater - http://www8.garmin.com/products/webupdater/

 

Lets you update your Garmin devices straight from your desktop without going to the website and finding the correct product page etc, far easier. It works for my Edge and Nuvi. Haven't tried it with my Forerunner yet though...

Just updated via the Webupdater program - no problems at all. Will go for a casual ride with it later and see how it goes

No problems here. Just make sure you have a reliable Internet connection.

Wondering if there is any reason I should update my unit,

 

Mine is running fine atm, never touch the screen once I start riding (so the 2 additional screens is of no use), and don't have a power meter either.

I saw something about improved calculations too, that's the only reason I upgraded.

Improved the calculation of time behind on the Virtual Partner page.

Fixed various issues with viewing activities in history.

Fixed various issues related to courses.
