Thanks. I presume your bikefit would be about the same on a SS compared to normal road bike?

The bike does not change, just the gearing

What gearing would be good for rolling to hilly terrain similar to 94.7 route?

No idea ... what gears would you normally push?

Start on one gear lighter than what you want to push and get into the swing of the SS thing and once you have gotten used to it fine tune your gearing.

This question to answer is not an easy one.

26 or 29 inch bike.

How strong are your legs normally, how good is your climbing ability, how good is your spinning ability.

Understanding all these and the cold hard facts behind them will lead you to the best gears for yourself.

There is also a vast difference in riding a SS or racing one in any race, especially the ultra's.

One tip I will give with confidence, always gear for the climbs.

Many people want to convert a 3 ring crank to a single. I want to convert my SRAM S1400 2x10 crank to single speed. Any ideas if this is possible and how?

Same applies as per the 3 ring crank where you might need the spacers or shortened bolts
