You see, I still don't know about that. It seemed at one point like Wiggins - realising that his jersey wasn't in danger - was gesturing for Froome to go. Which he did more than once then sat up. There was one point just after a surge where Froome could be seen talking on the radio. So I don't think the call to rein him in came from Wiggins.

Froom had a stage win already. Another one would have been sweet.

The time buffer between Froome and Wiggins was definitely being protected, just in case....

'On the flip side, let's say Froome could ride his own race and do as he pleases, I can assure you all that as an individual it would become a much harder task.'

This would definitely make things a lot more exciting. No? I hear what you're saying about cycling being a team sport but until they stop rewarding the individual winners, to me it should be an individual effort first and foremost and this means the strongest overall rider should win.

'I have to wonder where people get their brains from....'

No need to try and insult peoples intelligence just because their opinions aren't the same as yours.

As far as a rider having a 5 minute plus lead I believe that we will see this again in the not so distant future when it becomes too difficult for guys too dope and they have to rely on their natural abilities and fitness. I really hope so...

I missed the drama of the Galibier and Alpe 'd Heuz (sp) this year. I was very disappointed by the Pyrinees stages.

BTW, what's up with these wankers running naked with the riders? Who wants to see a bouncing dick on TV?

Even the commentators here in France during live transmition can't believe Froome waiting for Wiggy. Anyway, what's done is done but in my personal opinion, I wouldn't want to be Wiggy going through life or being on the podium knowing , I wasn't the strongest rider during the tour and probably shouldn't have won it

Don't really understand what happened yesterday....just some things that don't make sense to me.

I think both Wiggens and Froome wanted to go for a stage win? They had a chat on the col de balles and they pretty much went flat out.

For example why would Wiggins pace so hard at the bottom of the climb?

The only real reason I could see was to help close the gap to Valverde for Froome. But then why did Froome not go when they got rid of Nibali? Surely Wiggins knew he was strong enough to keep the tempo on the climb and still finish ahead on the climb?

Only thing I can think of is they wanted to go for the stage win but not by taking the risk that Wiggins might puncher and loose time without support?

The problem yesterday was it ended up looking bad for Sky if you ask me. Froome got a bit eager and if you go and look at it again...it is never good when a helper tells the Boss to move he ass!!Not once but many times.

The right thing would have been to either let Froome go full gas or make him stay in front of Wiggins without any complaints and forget about the stage win.

It was extremely frustrating to watch that last climb!!!!

Reading some of these comments here I have to wonder where people get their brains from.

It's the boredom factor Dangle. Maybe they criteriums are more their speed. Or T20 cricket? No, even that takes more than a couple of hours.

I'm seriously depressed today. 50 weeks till it all starts again. At least there is quite a bit happening in those 50 weeks bike riding wise.

Froome Dog checking on Wiggo in the final few kms of yesterday's summit finish.

Love those cray-zee fans!

Except the idiot who put his flag into Cav's wheel, causing a bad fall and a broken Dogma. Some of them are serious dickheads. Most are great.
