You sound seriously butthurt :)

At the end of the day it doesn't really impact our lives much. I still look forward to riding my bikes every chance I get

Most of the time I manage a semi pathetic "meh" when it comes to cycling and drugs.

Just the complete futility of this USADA investigation irks me. Millions of dollars, days and months of media speculation and coverage, millions of threads/posts and for what? Some light wrist slapping? Crazy.

Ah well - I'll breath to 10 and go for a run during lunch and a ride tonight. Then dinner and Dredd 3D...

Hmm perhaps we should get Dredd to sort out doping. The Tour would becoime a two man race. Literally.

What should they have done with their resources?

Not bothered.

Or gone after banks accounts. They've likened US Postal to organised crime so go after the the proceeds of crime in the same manner.

Funny thing is, had he chosen to partake in the proceedings the life ban would not have been enforced and only two titles would have been stripped... His own ego betrayed him this time.

He has much more at stake than that ... he managed to win a court case worth 19 million dollars over SCA regarding bonuses for his Tour wins when they accused him of taking drugs and they are now likely to claim that back, plus his whole business is built on his reputation as a Tour de France winner so he has a lot more to lose than anybody else involved in this case.

I think, even if he wanted to confess, he has too much to lose ... and of course there is the little thing about in his own mind he may not believe he has done anything wrong.

What should they have done with their resources?

If you look around the world at political situations that become impossibly intertwined over the years - the real resolution for many of them is to start with an amnesty to people in the past that had been involved. Not to condone them, but to be able to move forward. If they really wanted to clean up the sport not just go after LA, maybe they would have been better getting everyone to agree to drawing a line in the sand, so that everything which had gone before could come out and they could use the information to learn, reshape the sport and move forward.

Fair enough, but why no outrage at millions of dollars, lives ruined, careers ruined, threats, media circuses, etc from lance?

Usada doesn't have that jurisdiction. They're only a sporting body. Read the last chapter of secret race. It deals with the canning of the federal investigation, which would have gone after all of them properly

Ummm there is outrage over Lance's millions - I have said they should be taken from him.

Careers ruined? I reckon Lance has created many many more careers than he has ruined.

If you're talking cycling careers I reckon he also made more than he wrecked.

Threats - agreed Lance is a bit of a texan tosser in that department.

If you asked me now if Lance in total has had a positive or negative impact on cycling I'd still say positive though - cycling in the states was nothing in the US until Lance's "7". Now there are many USA team, USA tours etc. He brought recognition, sponsors, global popularity to a sport that was mostly european. Sure he did it using dope but he will disappear but the global appeal will remain.

I hope this Dredd is worth watching. The Stallone version almost ruined 2000 AD for me.

As for boring, the frailty of the contenders during the Vuelta made it the most exciting ever. Maybe they weren't clean but they sure were cleaner!

Apparently not, I don't have the details but something to do with other charges (not just the 8 year limitation on doping)

Usada claim they would only have enforced the stripping of two titles had he appeared at arbitration.
