Hi Guys,

I have a GT Zaskar Carbon Team and the wheight of the bike is now 9.3Kgs. I currently have Look Pedals on the bike with the wheight of 340Grams complete with cleats.

Is there any pedals out there that could save me some more wheight? I would like to get the bike under 9Kgs an this seems as a good place to start.

340 grams for the pedals or pedal? if both weigh 340 grams, then this is quite obviously not the place to start to lose the 301 grams to get your bike below 9 kilos... Unless you can show me a set of pedals that weigh 39 grams...

Rather look at the wheels or crank...

If you really want to go all out, cut an inch off your handle bar on either side and also for your seatpost. Remove all unnecessary bolts, and replace the ones required with titanium bolts. Cut your hoses / cable sleeves as short as possible. Trim some of the knobblies with a side cutter on your tires...

You can also lose weight on your kit... Skip the helmet, gloves and glasses... That way, you and your steed can go and float around...

Pedals would be the last place I would start, you are going to cough big bucks to drop a few grams

What do you have in the following dept

Tyres

Wheels

Groupset

Fork

If you want a light bike, you should start right at the begining...

The FRAME... then the rest... do a bit of home work, and have the bank manager in your pocket.

9.3 kg is a very good weight.. getting it any lighter will cost you big bucks..

LOL< why don't you just change the grips, give it a wash, cut all cables/hoses as short as possible... and then claim its weight to be 8.99kg's...

You won't be the first one on the hub to shave some weight....

If someone call's you out then you just change the topic to what the bike costs, and if they make you weight it infront of them use the airport luggage scale trick, lifting/supporting the bag bike with a big toe?

PS, start with the frame, wheelset, tyres and fork (in that order).

Saving weight on small stuff like that, will cost you more than the weight's worth in Gold.

Well, unless you have Bill Gates's bank account...
