Whats the simplest way to get gpx files of rides off the device? At the moment I have to use the stupid bryton bridge to upload to brytonsport.com, then go view the ride and manually export a GPX file

thats crazey , with my garmin i can upload straight to where ever i want , strava ect . why do you need to do this with a bryton , there must be a way they so similar.

Also thought it was standard on the Bryton's, so if you want to upload your data into any 3rd party software or site you must first upload it to Bryton's site and then export from there. Eish.

garmin connect accepts tcx, gpx and .fit files.

but this is the same as uploading to brytonsport.

am i understanding your problem correctly?

you want to download the gpx file from your gps, in order to view it in mapsource?

according to my limited knowledgeof windoze (no mac experience), you should be able to see the gps when connected to your pc, in the file explorer of your pc.

in the gps folder there should be a folder where the tracks are saved. from there you can copy and paste into another folder on your computer.

in order to view this file you would require a viewer like mapsource.

online verions are garmin connect ( no mapsource required)

brytonsport - probably the same as garmin connect, but bryton propriety...

hope this helps...typing is not a strongpoint.

except there are no gpx files on the device. its stored in some proprietary format which is only accessible from bryton bridge

Maybe there is a converter of some sort you can download that will get it to a gpx at least. Long shot

ahh I see.

next step would be (although this may become a bit fiddly, is to download a program called GPS babel.

ideally you should be able to open the proprietry file (if it is on GPS babel's list of supported files) and save it to the format you require

if you want i can upload the gps babel (the whole file is about 3mb)and you can have a look.

Time to buy a Garmin :whistling:

I had an edge 705 which went missing last week. Insurance paid out and I decided to replace with bryton rider 50... starting to regret it

You are screwed Fand!

Bryton went and created their own new file system.

It is called .btx or some of the other I forget.

It won't be viewable if you connect the unit to your pc. It is also not compatible with most 3rd party software like SportTracks, Endomondo and obviously not Garmin Trying Centre.

You have to convert the file before you can do anything with it.

You're lost with it!
