There's a few I wouldn't mind getting my little claws on, Modern and Vintage/Classic Tern Verge x20Tern, a new folding bike brand that was introduced to the public a few months ago at an unveiling event in Taipei, has begun shipping bikes. The Tern product line consists of 22 models of folding bicycles ranging in price from US$400 to US$3,500. The company's top-end offering, the Verge X20 seen below, is built for speed and weighs in at just a tick over 20 lbs.http://www.foldingcyclist.com/Tern-Verge-X20-folding-bike.jpghttp://www.foldingcyclist.com/Tern-Verge-X20-folding-bike-folded.jpg Tern Link Unohttp://www.foldingcyclist.com/Tern-Link-Uno-folding-bike.jpg Schwinnhttp://cdn.schwinnbikes.com/catalog/product/cache/55/image/457x300/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/s/_/s_12_WORF_BLK_1.jpg Brompton Key Model S2L-X (Brompton being the Grandaddy of folding bikes I think)http://www.brompton.co.uk/extranet/downloads/Key_Models/mid/S2L_X_Black_angle.jpg Pacific Reachhttp://4.bp.blogspot.com/_2_x3tH3RuRM/SGE6aHiASuI/AAAAAAAAAAU/_iARba3D9CE/s320/reach_red_2Racing.jpghttp://www.foldsoc.co.uk/Mike/Reach_review_html_3bc0d8bc.jpg GIANT EXPRESSWAY 1 and EXPRESSWAY 2http://www.giant-bicycles.com/_generated/_generated_za/bikes/models/images/550/2012/010-EXPRESS-WAY1.jpg http://www.giant-bicycles.com/_generated/_generated_za/bikes/models/images/550/2012/011-EXPRESS-WAY-2M1.jpg Dahon to Unveil New IOS Folding Bike Line at Eurobikehttp://www.foldingcyclist.com/Dahon-IOS-XL-folding-bike-announced.jpg Perhaps it's time to organise a race...

Folding bikes South Africa Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Dahon folding bikes will soon be available in South Africa! To promote the arrival of the biggest folding bike company in the world, we are travelling on 2 folding bikes from the Mozambique border to the Namibian border along the South African coastline. We cycle, hitch or use public transport. We did a similar trip on folders from Cairo to Cape Town a few years ago. For more info visit: www.foldingbiketravels.com
CAAD4 Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 I saw the Tern Uno, (I think) up close at the importers in Slaapstadt a few days ago. I was a Dahon fan, but the Tern would be my pick. The fact that there are no cables is clean and fantastic. It's also much prettier in the flesh.

The fact that there are no cables is clean and fantastic. It's also much prettier in the flesh. Fun and games, so easy to fold up and travel with, especially commuting on the Gautrain. No cables, sram internal hub with only two speeds automatic shifting and back-pedal coaster brake.http://www.ternbicyc...bikes/verge-duo
lloydkayak Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Anyone have an update on the folding bikes?Deciding between Dahon and Tern
CAAD4 Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 There are also Giant models. A lot cheaper, if I remember correctly. Two of my mates have them. Good enough for 60kmh downhill...
WezGK Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 saw these in Bangkok... thought they were awesome... worked out to about R14k though!
mrbaker Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 I'm selling an "almost new" Dahon vector P8 folding bike.Done less than 100km on it.Was going to commute via Gautrain, but now driving instead.Only scratches are on the seat post (minor really)... Retail R8500Asking R5500JHB
patrickza Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 Does anyone here own a Brompton in JHB they would let me test ride? I'm looking to buy one, but would love a test ride first as they are seriously pricey.
