Hi all,

No team for me, but I would love to fill in somewhere even a shortish notice. If someone pulled out or if you entered a team without a full team please lemme know - I will be stoked to join.

ride, ride ,ride.

try and complete a 140 km in October and another 1 in early November. the last 50 k's are the worst so save yourself for that , don't ride too hard/fast in the 1st 150.

Well to give you an idea of my current fitness, before the weekend started I was sitting on 12 hours training since last Monday and then rode 108km in 4 hours and 1300m ascent on MTB (district roads) on Saturday. I'm also going on a 3 day training camp to Sabie on Thursday where we will be doing 4-5 hour rides on those days. :)

I'm super keen to do Coronation Double Century... Any teams need an extra rider? 6 - 6.5hrs. I'm based in Kyalami / Fourways (JHB) and looking to train hard for other upcoming races as well.. (28yrs, male)

Go look on their Website. Lots of info to be found there.

Hope you are fit and able to do 202 km on one day. Not for the faint hearted this race.

I have, and found the profile but could not find the total ascent. Do you know where it has been hidden ?

I hope so too ;-)

I did the Trans Karoo in late April, 240 km my MTB without difficulty and i did 100 km with 1800 m of ascent in 3hrs48 this morning, so i suspect if i work at it for the next few weeks i may survive. Accepting the invite seemed like a good idea at the time....

That's what I thought as well, then I heard that the team I'm riding in is looking for a top 10 finish. This will be interesting and probably painful.

Seams you are in good shape then. What time is your Team aiming for? Just to finish is a great deal easier than going for a 6 - 7 hr time.

Unfortunately I lost a lot of my files with my last PC crash, so I cannot give you the ascent figures. Quite certain someone else ( My bet is on TinyK) will give you the needed info tomorrow.

Are you riding the One Tonner? That will also give you a good indication as to your form.

I know nuffink about the ride as i am a Vaalie, but 7 hr is the aim. Is that much tougher than a 2 x 3:30 august ?

Sadly not, see point 1 above (-;
