Is any body riding with 650 B wheel size ? If so can you give your take on them and can you compare it to 29 size. As I am not sure what size to use for the bike that I want to buy ?

Thanks

What bike are you considering buying?

Can't help you much now. I did ride one over the weekend, but it was very brief. Was fitted with heavy tyres so will be able to give a better idea once I've ridden it with something easier rolling and for longer.

Well I was told that if I have the right size frame I can just change the wheels .I ride a Specialised Epic at the moment . Is it a good idea to change the wheel size now and put them on the bike and see how they ride .As far a I know as I know there is no specifics bike built for these wheels.

Your best bet is to get a vernier and tape measure out and do some measuring to see if it can work on your frame, check out this. There is also 650Bpalace to check if your frame will work.

Thanks Man of Steel looks like I will need to change forks as well . Will have to do the the costing thing . I was informed that I can get a new set of rims only for about R 6000,00. Will have to do the cost thing.

I will be doing a conversion at some stage too, I know there are an abundance of 650B Stans rims, try get a hold of the agents, I'm sure you can get a better deal. For me I just need to to get rims & spokes.

Has anyone the reason why this has never been a debate for road bikes?

Well, I know nothing about road bikes, but isn't there just one standard for them? So.... nothing really to debate?

Because road bikes are 29ers! No debate necessary ... since the beginning of time everyone copied everything from the roadies.
