What do you guys think about the 2013 Merida Race Lite 903?

What bike can I get for around R10 000 new?

Budget a bit tight.

I have also been looking for something in that price range

You can get a Scott Speedster S20 with 105 groupset for R10 500

Do they want R10 000 for the Merida 903? That is a bit on the pricey side for a Tiagra specced bike.

You can get a full 105 Axis for R10 000.

At the lower end the groupset makes the biggest difference, then wheels, and only then the frame. In my opinion btw. You don't want to do a race and constantly have issues with gearing and chains dropping. So anything with at least a 105 groupset.

Ja that's maybe a bit expensive... I think CWC got the Merida Race Lite (2013 model) with a full 105 spec for 12k.

If your not pushed for time, maybe wait for the new Giant TCR and Cannondale ranges that's about to come out. Cannondal might still be a month or two though.

Good thing is, I hear the new 105 spec CAAD's will be coming out in Team Colors, so it should look nice

Buy a red one...

You sound like my sister. One day quite a few years back she comes home with her first car. She moans and bitches about the clutch being a bit difficult to handle. So I ask her why the hell did she buy the GTi then, and not the GTS. So her answer was; 'Because it was the only Red Golf I could find!'.
