gummibear Posted January 17, 2008 Share What gets to me is when a 70 year old farmer is killed the news never mentioned the race......but on the TV news last night it was said"the suspect is a 18 year old white boy".why dont they ever say that the suspects in a farm attack are 3or 4 black males.how can they say that it is race related.nobody knows what his reasons were.that will only come out later in court.I really feel sorry for the familly of that baby.there is no reason in the world to kill a child. I was there the nite before at Magoos( the band played stairway to heaven, never forget it) and my then boyfriend was involved as that asshole macbride who got one of his comrades out of Edendale hospital shooting a few Zulu people on his way out. Then Mango grooves lead gitarists sister Paula married the a hole in prison. We happened to family friends. There are plenty of them on the Internet. One of the reasons I like the Hub is because it is supposedly for cycling enthusiasts. I know that I could have chosen not to read this topic at all, but I also know that it would have been nicer to find a more positive/interesting/fun topic. The problem with being proud of being white is that you are by implication proud of what your forefathers have done (ah, Apartheid again). Somehow, those professing black conciousness/proudness/etc is bestowed with an almost angelic association with all that is good of the black past: being oppressed, achieving emancipation, etc. All noble and most inspiring causes. However, it also renders a moral highground in that no other "proudness" could be as noble or worthy of pride. Especially not pride that is borne by the latest generation of the past oppressors. Unfortunately "There is no courage without fear. There is no hero without a foe." We're pretty much on the shortest end of the stick here... Never mind the 2010........That event is going to kill this country when they mess it up and I beleive they will. Its all fair and well putting a man of colour in a Management role but what is the point if he cant do the job?? He can only f**k it up-like it is happening now. Rather put him under a person who can do the job so he can learn and then pay the other guy out not just pay the guy off and basically leave the position un-filled. This country is f**ked really it is and for those who cant see between the lines with the power,petrol etc then you need to wake up.
