  1. So far I know they've been incorporated into Sprocket & Jack http://sprocketandjack.co.za/
  2. Thanks for the replies. I popped into CL (Fourways) & Northcliff Cycles... They can do it but both are out of stock :/ guess I'll wait for the new year.
  3. Howdy, I'd like pimp my bike a bit and change brake hoses to white braided...is this something my LBS can do or should I find a specialist (any recommendations?)
  4. My sincerest condolences to the family - my thoughts are with you during this time.
  5. Ok, but do you have a picture of a swedish exchange student trying? PS: Subscribed EdoardoBianchi2009-08-25 06:39:06
  6. I would assume you've followed the instructions to pair the strap and the device? It needs to be told to look for it before it recognises it...Manual, Px
  7. If you're looking for a basic computer, Cateye is prolly as good as it gets. I used Sigma Sport in a past life. Solid and reliable.Try to get wireless speed for a much cleaner look. IMHO, you might want to consider going the Polar/Garmin route, giving you normal bike functions and HR all in one unit, as well as PC-based data analytics.
  8. Clip in. Find school. Wait for school-out. Fall over. All subsequent spills should be pleasant by comparison.
  9. Dirt highway, and only weekdays...Weekends are already split between NFarms, Groenkloof and The Spruit
  10. Anyone living in Fourways/Craigavon who's keen for a regular morning MTB ride in the Craigavon A/H & Chartwell area? 1.5 hrs starting 05:00 or 06:00 at Broadacres BP, avg around 20km/h...
  11. Thanks all for an awesome ride - had a great time! Same time (sorry, Kadee!), next week Saturday?
  12. I've edited my first post on pg 1 to include the "ride schedule"...
  13. Look, Hog_ sounds like a major cop-out not pitching for a ride but hosting a braai afterwards? I like your style though... My guess is that we'll be back at the trail-head by 10:00 latest (heck, any later and I'm being served divorced papers in ICU in a manner of speaking.
  14. Yeah, sounds like I'm earning credits towards an extra helping of the famous SP-chocolate cake!
  15. We'll be meeting at my offices at 07:00 (which is sortof on the corner of the N1 and Rivonia - Woodmead side), kitting up to leave at 07:15 and then departing from the trailhead at the bottom of Witkoppen just below Fritz Pienaar Cycles at 07:30...PM me for directions to my offices if you want to start with us from there. >> "What if I'm am too slow for you guys?" Give it your best shot, SP! We're roadies, turn lazy, turn Mtb'ers.
  16. HR: I'm hoping to make this more regular & would be keen to do a ride with the uber poster 'n newshound! SP: I was considering NF, but wanted to "stick with what I know" for my first ride out... I'm starting to assemble a respectable pile of winter kit on the kitchen table to deal with the 07:30 insanity. I guess the thermoflask will go along to counter frostbite! A realistic avg speed is kinda hard to peg: I haven't touched a bike in more than two months. We'll stop at the top of every incline, that's for sure!
  17. KDEE, a mate 'n I are starting from the Paulshof end at around 07:30 on Sunday. We dubbed the ride: "Phat buoys Ride Again" which should give you an indication of our general physical state. We might not make it all the way to the dam, but either way will be looking at about 1.5-2 hrs at an average speed of around the 16-19 kmh mark. Drop me a PM if you're keen on joining us. Otherwise, if you encounter anyone on the trail who you think could be us, shout: "Phatties & Moanies forever!" EB Start Times: - 07:00 (Meet at Metropolitan Office Park) - 07:15 (Depart MOP) - 07:30 (Start trail on Witkoppen) Locations: 1) 82 Wessel Rd, Metropolitan Office Park, front of Block E - Take N1s - Take Rivonia rd offramp & follow slipway left - At the 1st set of traffic lights, go left (into Wessel) - Follow the rd left - Rigth at the T-Junction - 1st Left - Left at T-junction - Follow road around a 90deg bend - 1st left again - The road ends against MOP's entrance. You'll be going to "Volition" 2) Trailhead on Witkoppen where it crosses the spruit in Paulshof (just east of Fritz Pienaar Cycles/the KTM Warehouse) EdoardoBianchi2008-07-03 21:56:28
  18. Both the De Rosa or Colnago seem absolutely delicious, IMH(but highly biased)O. Who cares about weight & cost when 1) you're dealing in passion, 2) you've already convinced the missus to shell the equivalent of more than 1 bond payment on a bike 3) you're buying exclusivity? Says the one selling up his Italian bella...
  19. Sooooo, about that groupset... Bad luck, Samma, hope it gets sorted and he's not injured?
  20. What an awesome day - Thanks for posting the pics!
  21. Oi, EWEP, bad luck dude. Speedy recovery though!
