Yea that little bakery sold plenty on a sat and sun morning. Even more so when it's sani / epic training season. Oh well good on the farmer that saw the gap, maybe we can get a cold slice of melktert and a beer at this new spot...we can only hope

I spoke to him last week. They are busy building a guest house on the farm. He is going to have all kinds of stuff available to the cyclists. Showers etc.

Only problem is that in time he is planning to charge for the parking.

I know this is probably at your expense but, HAHAHAHAHA!!!

What??? You do that on a SS? You ARE a sucker for punishment!

What Jc didn't mention was that he did the hill, both sides, about 3 times yesterday on his SS!

If he adds clean showers and some sort of a clubhouse(thinking holla trails here) that sells brewskies and some snacks...billies...boerewors rolls and melktert, I will be prepared to pay.

If it means that your car is safe while you riding I don't think thats unreasonable.

Likewise... and a clean toilet! That spaza shop really didn't see the potential, so I'm happy to pay to park somewhere where a bit of effort goes in!

Yes I agree. The parking at the garage was getting more and more dodgy. And yes clean toilets (especially for the ladys) and other facilities would be great. I like his attitude, he said he will only charge once there are facilities in place.

I didn't even go in! Decided I'd take my chances with blackjacks/thorns/dodgy farmers driving past instead!

Bliksem. The only reason I would ride that more than once is if I forgot my wallet at the shebeen.

Still easier to con Nancy Drew into a Breedts Nek Ride and park at her family's place. All the above available because of the circuit race(s)...

*shush* I didn't say anything ;)

Drove up and down the road yesterday looking for this place, eventually found it. The sign is literally an A4 piece of paper.

And for any of you that were wondering... the gate that you slide open to gain access to the farm, it is electrified

hahahaha - i thought it might be - so i was REALLY careful when opening it ;)

Out of interest - how do most of you ride when you do Breedt's? When we get to the shebeen we continue up to the tar road, turn right and then take the first left onto a dirt road. We carry over the two climbs and down the other side until you eventually get to a T-junction with another tar road (42km from the start) Then we just u-turn for a 84k ride.

It would be nice to turn it into a bit of a loop rather than a straight out and back ride.

I still have some of the remnants from our last ride in my car! Guess we could arrange a car bar untill such time?? :P
