I asked this question last week and the gurus all said yes....it will work! Think the BB might just have to be changed!

ConfusedConfused Your question wasn't the same. You asked if Sram STI's would work with Shimano derailers...Yes it will work.

Gutter, that's one of the reasons why I didn't even look at the SRam stuff when I upgraded recently.  The Colnago is also Italian thread and no-one could give me advice.

Hey ewep,

Are you saying Sram don't make an Italian BB?

GH, no-one could point me in the right direction.  Spoke to quite a few LBS' in and around GP but to no avail.  A lot said Shimano, other said I'll be mad for putting SRam on a Colnago and 3000 other excuses.  In the end not one could give me a simple "buy this one" type answer.

GH, unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) I've already gone the Campy way.  But please let me know what you find.  What SRam grouppo did you order though?

Will my 2008 Sram Force crankset fit into my existing Ultegra BB? My existing BB is Italian and the new crank's BB (still on it's way to me) is English....

I don't know much about shimano "Other than it's a load of cheap junk" But I do know the difference between English thread and Italian thread. and English thread cup will not fit in an Italian thread because the pitch is different.

Truvativ GXP BB should work with SRAM and is available with Italian thread. Question is if they stock it locally?

Truvativ and SRAM are supplied by the same holding company - Not sure if they are manufactured by the same company Big%20smile
