A bunch of new (possibly Strava driven) lines are also developing all over the show on those trails. If the people making those lines continue at the rate it's going now, pretty soon we'll just be bombing down a straight line. It's sad to see how little some people care for the trails.

Even though its illegal building, who would really stop a few guys heading up to do some work?

I'll take some photos later in the week of some of the places I think could be repaired.

But yes, the 2 main lines in the forest are still great, just some of the structures are worn down..

You will be surprised at the amount of time people get to oppose trail building.

The first group of primary concern would be the Paradyskloof and Brandwag Rate payers association, with a couple of retired people that have too much time on their hands. Particularly a bald headed chap that regularly takes his two "Alsatians" for a walk and has a "military" background. "Eckhard Eco" or "Military man" sat in on most of  the meetings with the municipality and stone walled all plans proposed.

Im also a military man :D , but not bald and walk my Labradors there, haha. Always happy when people build, but there was some dik dodgy/shoddy building last year, with sticks stuck in the ground to "mark" the new route, was in the lower parts.

I used to build there near the skietbaan, those 4 rhythm jumps below the house we built back in matric over on hot December holiday ( with some rebellious/underage beer consumption, haha)

No disrespect meant to anyone.

I will definately be fixing two particular corners of the Eden Singletrack Descent shortly, as I unfortunately suffer from Strava addiction and must fix my errant ways.

Have they finished building all the way to Dornier or just to Mont Marie yet? I finished at Mont Marie but didn't see it going further although it is on their map.

They are doing great work there, dornier, coetzenburg, eden. It's a good time to be in stellenbosch.

It doesn't happen for free though and there are a lot of bike riders around here - so (to everyone) you should make an effort to support their fundraisers.

How does one access the Mont Marie trails and do they link with the rest of Eden - GSpot - Coetzenburg?

Yes. Go to the Eden forest car park in paradyskloof. There is a sign and map just beyond the fence. But in short, ride to the "white house" in eden forest (any person there can direct you), turn right at the house and I'm pretty sure it is signposted from there.

Is that the loop off to the right? The downhill that ends at the bottom where the restaurant is?

Only noticed the Mont Marie routes on the board this morning. Was unsure if I need a permit so skipped them. Will give them a go next week. I have a Wannebee holiday permit and used that to ride Dornier two days ago. Was excellent with a nice bit of surprises. Well done STF!
