Strangest thing i never noticed, i'm running a campy groupo, cleaning my bike on sat, i noticed my cluster is HG shimano, I havent picked up any real problems with this, now my question is do i leave it, or get a campy cluster? i have ridden alot of kms like this!

Muds, so I can ride my 12-27 Shimano on my Campy grouppo when doing the Panorama.  Will the Campy Ultra Narrow g/set not give hassles?

Try it and see. I do it the other way round. Chorus cassette with shim chain and group. Never had any problems. Also when I change to a shim wheel it works perfectly without any adjustments.

shimano wheels and cluster are cheaper to buy. if you want to change to a campag cluster, you have to buy a new wheel. the splines on campag and shimano is not the same, so you cannot just change the cluster.

(which is why i bought 2 pairs of campag 10 speed wheelsets with clusters, when i got the chance)

is the shimano clusters one piece? can you get a 10 speed spacer kit to use a shimano wheel, 10 speed shimano cluster on campag equiped bicycle?

Yes, the splines on the freehub body are different. You need to change that only, not the entire wheel.

9 speed?

I heard 10 speed is not compatible?

had campy groupo with shimano cluster and chain, no problem.  When changing to full campy ie cluster and chain i could not go to shimano casstte as the chain was not compatible....

Just to throw more confusion into the mix, you can always try a conversion cassette.  American Classic makes a Shimano splined, Campag spaced cassette.  This means you don't have to change your freehub body and you can run the rest of your kit Campag.  Not sure if they are imported into SA, but you can get them from the States from the usual places fairly cheaply.  I run an 11-23 on a set of Mavic ES and have no problems.
