DR ◣◢ Posted October 22, 2012 Share Basic tools as a must have: 1: Good set of alan keys or hex keys. A good set will last a lifetime and a ball-end on the one side is handly.2. Good set of flat and phillips head screwdrivers.3. Cassette tool4. Chain whip5. Good quality chain lube6. Tube of good quality grease7. Tube of copperslip. Not essential but handy8. Good quality bike wash9. Various rags.10. Quality set of tyre levers11. Spoke key to tighten spokes.12. Good floor pump or small compressor13. Torque wrench. Not a must but helps to never worry about over or under tighten bolts. This will allow you to do almost all the basic maintenance on your bike. I was looking at various bike stand options but ultimately I settled on a Park Tool PCS-9 stand. Was cheap enough off CRC to justify the purchase. Please Advice no workshop is complete without : - SDS power drill- karcher (decent sized)- air compressor w/ ratchet, spray gun- proper heavy vice- welder (preferably TIG)- full set of Gedore sockets- proper wall mounted grinding stone.- oxy acetaline kit.- decent size angle grinder The list goes on...and on....aaaaaand on Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
