krl747 Posted November 14, 2012 Share i wish my body fat is 24% and its all around my gut and handles!!!!! zero on my legs, and very little on my arms What are you eating on a daily basis? I was eating too little which resulted in my body keeping reserves. I eat more now and loose weight
DIPSLICK Posted November 14, 2012 Share Make sure you are eating ENOUGH to feed your excercise routine - had the same problem and after going to a sports nutritionist as a last resort - turns out I was eating way too little - affected basal metabolic rate etc. ( I do several spinnnig sessions a week and also run once a week and our weeekend sat/sun cycles) Body just hangs on to whatever you feed it . The difficult thing is to up kj intake and visits twice a month to measure fat/muscle changes. Timely procedure but should be worth it in the end. Maybe you should see someone in the line of a sports nutritionist ( I went to TUKS HPC) - they seem to be a bit more in tune to a training routine. If all else fails - up your training a bit and add a couple of morning interval sessions to boost metabolism. My 2c worth.... Good Luck.i ride hard to and from work nearly every day its only about 12km there and twelve back, but that does not form part of my "training program" i see that as normal activity
Escapee.. Posted November 14, 2012 Share whats is your daily caloric intake ? you will lose weight if you burn more calories than you eat If you know how much you are taking in on a a daily basis, it will make it a lot easier
DIPSLICK Posted November 14, 2012 Share Why 80kg? According to what?my dietician and my BMI
DIPSLICK Posted November 14, 2012 Share Do you track your calories in and out, because that is the only thing that matters with weight. A high protein low carb diet can assist, but what helps as well in upping your good fats. You must also try to up your metabolism,do you eat every 2.5 to 3 hours? Maintain a steady inflow of food and your body wont see the need to hold on to any excess nutrition.I DO EAT THE SMALL 6 PORTIONS AS PER DIETICIAN
Akon Posted November 14, 2012 Share What do I know, but my layman's view (this is normal science by the way, not "diet"-science) If a car can go 10 kays to the litre, it will still have fuel left after 8 kays... It is a physical impossibility to expend more energy than what is available (i.e. exogenous, plus what is in the body) However, be careful not to assume weight = energy.(and now I'm on shaky grounds, but I think it links up with one of the previous posts: you may be replacing a gram of fat with a gram of muscle, leaving your weight unchanged. THen either this is your correct weight, or you'll start losingagain, as soon as that replacement ratio drops --> you becoming a lean fighting machine :-) )

Wyatt Earp Posted November 14, 2012 Share three years ago i clocked in at a heavty 128kg, went to a dietician with a good steady diet and exercise i got down to 110 kg, and stopped dead with losing weight, went back to her asked if i could change the diet since nothing is helping she said no its a plateau i must push through, months later no change. went to dietician number 2 she put me on a high protein low carb " shock" diet droped down to 105kg.......she then put me on a balnced diet, now i am stuck at 100kg . i train min of 8 hours a week(min) i have done 3 sani2c and towers and and and..(when i train for a race i train 12-14 hours a week) i have done all the blood tests and all the tests(hormone, thyroid, and and ) had a full blood work test, the only thing that was slightly low was my testosterone and the specialist said " it is slightly low but not low enough yet for treatment" i know all over weight people say they dont cheat, but i am stupid strict, i even fight with the wife when she does not take the absolute best option even with stuff like yoghurt, i know weight loss is 80% diet and exercise is a small portion, but it must count and surely i should loose........long story short i dont think its the diet it must be something else, does anyone have advice Stop using aftershaves and ointments with tea tree oil. DIPSLICK Posted November 14, 2012 Share Never work on BMI. It does not take your bone density into considerationSAD TO SAY I AM A SMALL GUY, GOT A BIT OF MUSCLE FROM BACK IN THE DAY WHEN I DONE WEIGHTS, BUT I KNOW WHAT FAT IS,,,, I AM UNFORTUNATELY NOT BIG BONED, I AM 175M SMALL BONED, BMI IS NOT ACCURATE BUT ITS A GOOD INDICATOR
jcza Posted November 14, 2012 Share I DO EAT THE SMALL 6 PORTIONS AS PER DIETICIAN I understand what you're saying - have the proper assessment done. Is your muscle mass more than 50% of your body mass?Do you need to lose body fat? There is no "easy" way - eat less and train more. Do you check how many kcal you burn per week? Do you compare that with your intake? You cannot gain weight from not eating, it is impossible! Edited November 14, 2012 by jcza

usxorf Posted November 14, 2012 Share If your current eating plan worked to bring you from 128kg down to 100kg, then it stands to reason, without making assumptions ("i dont think its the diet it must be something else"), that a leaner eating plan will get you to 80kg.
