Eldron, what ratio you running?

I'm supposed to be starting in D on my SS but will be starting with the Charity Batch around 8:18.

Iron will be rocking the 33x15 and I'll be on a 32x15 (I like to spin....bwahahahaha). Both on 29ers.

Pity you guys arent on proper bikes. What speed will you be doing at 100 rpm ?

edit :

meters travel per minute : x = (32/15)*2*pi*(wheel diameter/2)*100

km per hour = x*60/1000

should be right. 29er tyre diameter around 680mm ?

100 rpm on 32/15 is +-27km/h

110 rpm about 30km/h

@ 100rpm = 29.9km/h

100km race at this pace = 3h17

What time do you guys (and gals) think we will need to arrive at the venue to make it to the start pens in time and not right at the back?

I'm going to get there at 6:15

no,no - used 680 OD... is see with 2274mm the OD is 720mm that give 29.9km/h

You left out the tyre - outer diameter with tyre is 730mm on my SS with a 2.1 tyre. 730mm is just under 29" which is where the "29" in 29er comes from :-)

So....circ is 2.29m

I reckon I'm a 95rpm kinds guy so 28km/h for me.

It's mostly irrelevant really though because you do more than 28km/h on downhills without pedalling and far less than that when we're kakking off on uphills.

I'd agree with the theory if we were on fixies though (I'd unclip on the down if that were the case).
