Not sure what caused this major flare up. I have had minor issues before when I could feel it tear a little but nothing like this yet.
I suppose it could be an overuse issue.
I could not ride my bike for two months as I was waiting for parts, so I did a lot of trail running. I’m assuming it is that.
since then I have been doing various stretches but can honestly say they have brought zero to little relief.
When I ride it is not painful but the whole getting out of bed and walking in general is often painful.
I’m also starting to think that my inserts are doing more harm than good as my other foot has now also started showing symptoms.
What kind of Dr. would be best to see? Physio or pediatrist?

most definitely the running that brought this on, I've only ever heard of runners getting it. 2 weeks complete rest usually fixes it for me but as mentioned earlier foot strengthening exercises is needed. Shoes might too small for you too or running shoe has little to no support for the arch of the foot?

For me it was just that first few steps when getting out of bed, after that it never bothered me at all for the remainder of the day & I carried on with normal running.

You can also buy a pair of plantar fasciitis support from clicks, looks like an ankle sleeve, it definitely does offer some relive if the pain is severe.

Head over to the "Cyclist with a Running Problem" thread someone over there might have some useful nuggets as well.

Podiatrist if the issue persists

Creedance thread revival.

I'm suffering here. I have custom inserts but I'm wondering if they are doing more harm then good. I do stretches, I have started doing strength training to help correct posture.
What else can I do? I'm at my wits end. This has been going on for two months, or am I just impatient?

Pieter consider a session with a biokineticist.

IF there is some underlying issue they can help to pin point the route cause.  That is the most difficult part.

From there they can quickly assist with targetted training for the real issue.

Edit : physio vs bio .... my recent experiences shows a significant overlap .... both might be able to find the cause, though a bio may approach it more from an exercise and muscle measurement point.  The bio have sent me to a physio for massage or needle treatment, even ultra.sonic.  then back to the bio for a recovery exercise plan.  I know some physios do help with this as well .... lots of overlap !!

Thanks Chris. I’ll do this.
This has happened once before but I can’t remember what I did to “fix” it. I remember sleeping with some kind of boot on but thats it.
