YA..Good old SA suppliers. Its a pity, I loves spez bikes. My latest purchase was between a stumpjumber and an Ibis but after my warranty not going as smooth as I would have liked from Specialized I got me an Ibis SL-R (Extremely happy with my purchase).

Had a warranty claim for a paint defect on a seat stay. They were going to replace it under warranty with a plain black stay unlike my original one which had decals to match the rest of the bike.

I had to throw my toys and what do you know, I am sent a matching seat stay (its a 2010 frame purchased April this year).

Why was it even necessary for me to go through all that ****.

Unfortunately the LBS had to be on the receiving end of my cursing.gif

My LBS refused to sell me a spez. Said they couldn't cope with the local supplier. Bought a Bianchi instead. Spez still my most drooled over MTB though. Would love to buy one.

Just replaced my Spez 29er .. pretty much same issue, but the Bianchi is very drool worthy.

I have tried ordering specialized products from international sites and seems most, if not all, shops wont send to SA. I assume its because specialized has a local agent. Good news if this changed!

From what I understand, that's because Specialized has now changed their model and ONLY sells through their "concept stores" (think that's what they call it).

Fortunately I have BMT in Stellies, because I really love their stuff. I'm advised to only ride with their shoes - and it is absolutely great! - and had one set of gloves before I tried a Spez glove, nothing else since. Found their saddles much to my liking (now ride a Phenom and a Romin)... Just don't like their helmets at all, but that's all personal preference and head shape.
