the momsen is tricky to set up but is the lightest non carbon searpost you will get. i have 2 oe on

my scott and one on my Trek 29ers. i had the same problem that the setback seatpost coming with

the scott and replaced with SU. Retails 850. if your LBS dont stock them just ask it took 2 days for me to get one

 

the new momsen is machined and looks more like the thompson now

Thanks for all the advice. I googled all of the mentioned ones (we do not have a a lbs that stock these) I like the kcnc a lot...

Have KCNC, ( several)

Used in the roughest condition, no problem, light, inexpensive.

If you break these you were really unlucky or you are sitting on your arse whay too long in very rough stuff,I often see the duellie guys do this.

Does having a setback seatpost make that much difference? I see the one on my Ghost is a bit more back than the one on the GT but I dont feel any difference when riding them?

 

It is not about feeling the difference.

 

Setback or not has to do with your setup on the bike. Your saddle needs to be in a certain position in relation to your crank etc. and then once you have that you need to choose a seatpost that will allow the clamp to be in the recommended area on the saddle.
