Magalies Monster 2013

Lekker ride and as said previously, a proper mtb race. They seem to have everything waxed....entry procedure, registration, hospitality and markings and course. As far as races go, it doesn't get much better. Glad I did this one rather than the dirt-roadie ride where they did 70km and 300 odd meters of climbing.

Nice having as cold one with the manne afterwards. Must do on the mtb calendar.

I also enjoyed it, was a nice mixture of rocks, uphill and concrete single track :D Next year I plan to do the 45Km, because it was my first race, I only did the 20km and loved every minute of it.

definately one of the hardest days on the bike, at some points we had major sense of humour failure, wishing the pain would go away hahahaha.... all in a days work...

Must agree with you, PROPER MTB race - got exactly what I was looking for from the race! One thing I would have liked is proper seeding... Started mid-pack and had to put myself way deep in the red in the first couple of kilo's to pass folks and probably lost some time early on on the leaders.

The GENTLEMAN who gave me his spare tube after I cut my spare ( cut sidewall on tyre).

I REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR KINDNESS!!

I couldn't remember your name ( couldn't remember my own at that stage).

This was on the rocky descent before the monster climb, you know who you are.

Thanks so much.

I will pay it forward.

well I think some of us that did the Monster thought at some point you were about to die, or have a near death experience but dammit, I think I got a little too close behind the devil ha ha

The first few k's of road through the orchids gave a lot of opportunity for the field to sort itself out in terms of pecking order I thought. Mass start is better fun that sitting in pens, especially for us back markers.

Are you out of the dog box yet?

Of course i am. New back tire, a plant and a small chocolate and the points are piling up. Ok so i guess i better replace the bearings on the suspension on her bike this week and build the SS bike for her. If I don't i will be in the dog box for the rest of the year
