As far as races go, it doesn't get much better. Glad I did this one rather than the dirt-roadie ride where they did 70km and 300 odd meters of climbing. Must do on the mtb calendar.Must agree with you, PROPER MTB race - got exactly what I was looking for from the race! One thing I would have liked is proper seeding... Started mid-pack and had to put myself way deep in the red in the first couple of kilo's to pass folks and probably lost some time early on on the leaders. Started mid-pack and had to put myself way deep in the red in the first couple of kilo's to pass folks and probably lost some time early on on the leaders. The first few k's of road through the orchids gave a lot of opportunity for the field to sort itself out in terms of pecking order I thought. Ok so i guess i better replace the bearings on the suspension on her bike this week and build the SS bike for her.
