Rules there are “no grounds” to overturn lower court ruling

Roberto Heras is once again the winner of the 2005 Vuelta a Espana. The Spanish Supreme Court has upheld a lower court ruling annulling his positive doping test and the loss of the title.

Saw this earlier today - so much for the "new" cycling. Just more of the same

My first thought was "so, Lance has room to keep his titles, doesn't he..."

It all hinges on legal technicalities and misunderstandings. Much like the local Comrades winner whose samples were mishandled etc.

Doping agencies (local AND overseas) MUST make sure that there are NO grounds to overturn a finding. They want to be the flag bearers for 'clean sport', then they must have their houses in spotless condition.

Aside: Amazing how we can applaud somebody wangling out of a speeding fine due to a technicality, but blame a sports person doing the "same"!

Not me.

Search this forum, I've taken plenty flak for standing up for that very principle.
