Hi, hope all of you have had a wonderful day with family and friends!

I received a sigma 3.11 heart rate monitor as a gift and I'm not totally sure how to use it. It does not have the functions of max,min and average hr, so how would one use it?

Hope you guys can help me

Many guys would tell you, your actual max is much higher when you are fit but, do a search on the hubb and you find lots of info. As far as heard if you push yourself beyond your max for too long you do more harm than good, that is if you want to improve your vo2max.

Anybody?

HEART RATE training is quite scientific and a great tool if you train for a specicific sport. but it is going to take some research from your side. to determine your Max and the your different Zones ie... aerobic zone where you want to do most of your endurance training. when first starting to use a HR monitor you will be quite surprised to find how much harder you ought to be riding or if you are pushing it to much ... mostly you find you could be riding harder.

Best is to go the somebody (sport science if you are in Cape Town) and get it tested. If it is not tested it is always a guess. It is not that expensive and you can see it as an investment
