I can see bling bling bling. And I see:

  1. The cassette /freewheel combo's only to fit on certain hubs
  2. EXPENSIVE
  3. Expensive to replace cassette.
  4. You end up loosing the top end and/or the bottom end of your gearing.

In short, it looks good. But the practicality of the cassette/freewheel is not to my taste.

A lot of manufacturers are producing replacement free bodies for their current hubs (as well as specific hubs).

And from what I understand is the new free wheel configuration is backwards compatible with the shimano standard cassette ,

Considering how fast 2x10 moved down the range from XX, we'll have X0-1 by the end of this year and probably down as far as X5-1 by end of next year. Then at least you won't have to sell one of your kids to buy the groupset. So you could actually ride one and thus actual experience as opposed to opinions. I'd certainly like to give it a bash, but at R4k+ for a "consumable" like a cassette, methinks not!
