Nice bike.

You are going to have to change your Hub name now!

Should probably change, the Giant XTC is now hanging in garage!

If your current bike is good enough for a Day race, why is it not good enough for the Epic?

Sounds to me like you're doubting your fitness and want to compensate by getting a plush bike. Your arse is going to get hammered on either bike.

Train more and get through the Stages quicker.

Many of the top riders still use hardtails in the Epic. As none of us are in that league, and the punishment your body will take after a few days in the saddle, perhaps a full suspension machine is the answer. But, your Scott RC, like most other carbon hardtails, has a bit of squish in the chainstays... It is a tough question when one thinks it through...

And comment from one of the Bulls riders (HT) is that they can't be truly competitive because of the beating their legs take on the HT's.

Ja but what dual is best between giant and the scott is what i acually wanted to know

Ah, now that makes it interesting.

Both bikes get rave reviews......you will have to jump on both to feel the bikes how they fit with you (don't be too critical as stems etc can be changed when fine tuning the bike fit.

Reliability should be top on your list and based on reports from wenches who worked at the last Epic the Scott duallies had a fair bit of rear shock issues.

One top wrench in particular did the same thing Kevin Evans and that other rider who shall not be named did, by fitting a fox rear can. Rider recons it had made a world of a difference and he had no issues on the ride.

Good luck and which ever bike you choose I am sure you will be happy.

The right bike is the one you ride 4 times a week

The one you do all your suffering on.

The one you do all your races on.

The one that you smile at when you open your garage.

The one you take extra special care of when loading it up.

The one you thank for getting you to the finish when your legs gave up.

The one you want to buy an upgrade for - not cause it needs it - just because you love it that much.

The one with your butt imprint in the saddle.

that is the right bike for Epic!

I'm not doing the epic on a Morewood Mbuzi
