Hi Clinton,

Out of Interest, do you use the std cleat or "easy" cleat with your S-works. I picked up my S-Works (2013) this morning and need to go do the setup tonight. Thanks.

I'm using the Std cleats - no shims, Easy's weren't available right at the release. I've yet to replace the cleats.

FYI - i've installed new "under foot grip pads/pieces" (all the replaceable rubbers) on the underside of my S-Works shoes (in Feb) so they at the original spec & still never moved/lifted the cleats, no issues.

Any idea which is the correct spacer to use on the Spez Sworks MTB shoes. Tried the 0.5 and my foot would unclip on tech sections. Tried the 1.0 and there is too much float i end up trying to grip with my toes.

Great pedals! I use them with 2013 S works shoes. Mr Look suggested I use one thin red shim (not sure what thickness they are) under cleat just so that cleat grips better on the carbon. I have never had my foot un clip when I did not want it too. And never had any problem unclipping when I needed too.

I just bought my wife a set and it is her first time ever using clip in pedals and she has no problem with them. She uses them with women's Tahoe shoes and no shims.

yeah my wife has them too and no issues. I just have a problem when i use the red shim 0.5 that i clip out otherwise they are great.

Could it be that your foot/cleat is not setup neutral.... I'm not sure but maybe need some adjustment

Could well be! interesting point as it was only the right hand cleat that was popping out.

I'm using S-Works 2013 shoes, 0 Shims, i push firmly @ times to get in but i like it tight ;) No accidental unclips even in harsh technical sections or pulling up during climbs.

I've still managed to unclip no issues in emergency situations when the need arises.

Most guys using S Works shoes only use the red gripper...it's actually not a shim...it's just there to help your cleat grip on a carbon sole. Your studs on your shoes will then have propper contact with the pedal platform.

Is it possible to buy new deflectors and the "S" metal spring part? Great pedals.

Yes...you can buy deflectors...composite..alu...or carbon...and you can buy the steel springs as well.

How really hard are the standard cleats(DSC Comp) to clipping in and out?

Should I go buy the DSC Easy's off the bat?

It all depends on what you are used too. The normal cleats suit most guys.

Takes a few times getting used to, but I prefer the S Track to the Shimano SPD setup. Feels MUCH better when pedaling. So, not hard at all once you get into them. My 2 cents.

When i set up mine I used different spacers until they clipped in snugg...... But i never managed to stop my right foot coming out on tech sections. I tried turning the cleat to different angles. but still had a few unexpected unclips.

I'v gone back to Shimano pedals.

Ditto. reverted to XTR.
