I brought in a 650b frame, seat post, bottle cages, stem and handle bar from Hongfu late last year. The carbon seat did not fit the post. I bought carbon wheels from Ribour shop a few weeks later.

I got the bike built and had a few issues with the wheels. A few spokes broke, but they sent a few spares ad a crack on the inside of the rim. They also sent a new rim within a day(great service).

Had a number of issues on items I bought through The Hub, new parts which were definitely not new. I am in Johannesburg and the parts from Cape Town. Finally got the bike going better, the shock set up and have started racing on this machine.

I am very happy with it. Today I got my first win at an XCO race.

awesome stuff maaahn

post a picha of your racing machine!?

My father is leaving for Beijing on Tuesday. Want to organize a 26er hardtail frame for the wife.

Who do you guys recommend?

Hongfu has no 26ers.

Honsen sports does. Any others?

Thanks in advance

So it appears I have boaght a chinese frame.

I would have never if I knew it but I can't say anything bad about it just wish I knew, and now I wonder what the real S5, will feel like.

What are the road frames going for? I have an S5 full carbon look a like.

No idea what the frame weights but with full ultegra build its 7.8 kg and its a size 58.

Just trying to figure out if the buyer ripped me off or not

Frames usually go for about $500-650

What did you pay for it?

Sorry to hear! Hope you get sorted with the lying seller!

I paid R9000 including the build of the bike

Hes a smooth talker

Ag well so you learn.

On the bright side though the bike does go well on solo rides. so it wasn't all a waste

Who's the most reputable ebay merchant? Ebay seems to be considerably cheaper or am I going wrong somewhere?

In my experience, 70% of those sellers are linked to Flyxii. Dengfu and Hongfu don't post on eBay

Thanks Meezo, how much am I looking at on a frame from Dengfu or Hongfu? Is Flyxii any good? Or should I give them a miss.

All good! Depends, what you looking at getting road or mtb?

If 29er, I really like the FR202 from Flyxii. The full internal brake and gear cable sells it for me. Those frames landed, probably around R4000.

If road frame, personally the FM098 build quality on these frames are great. However these are the most expensive of the frames you'll get. I think probably around R7000-R8000 landed
