Isnt it kinda the same than riding your bicycle along the road with a FF?

(Commuting to work along pavements with a FF to be exact..)

:whistling:

only if it's with an MX full face, Lenny Kravitz!

Same! Saw one in the window of the shop that rents out the South African "M" bikes.

That particular shop had a lot of very purdy D3's in it... I was soo tempted!

Glad I held out though cos I got mine at an insane price! (even if it is unicorn vomit colour)

Oh the Sphincter shop. Well most of the dudes that worked there are. Ja they have another branch in the old bit of town. Deff the biggest TL dealer but their prices were eye wateringly expensive.

And MX helmets on bicycles make you look like Mr Mackey!

That's the main reason just to get a MTB full face!

Problem is that if you have been "blessed" with a head the size of Mr Mackey, finding a MTB FF lid that fits is a problem. I tried on a Rampage XL and it gave me a headache just trying to get it on. A Fox V2 XL fitted like a glove and the price was VERY right so I ended up with that.

Mock if you must but my bank balance thanked me for it. I also get to use it when riding off road bikes. Gets a little bit hot on a balmy summers day in KZN but nothing that us Durbanites can't handle.

The colour scheme mkes me think it should be worn when driving Herbie :whistling:

No... maybe Herbie's faster slimmer cousin...

Herbie wasn't orange, you must be thinking of that Lohan women in the Herbie remake.

The Fox V2 and the dh version (don't know what it was called. V4R or something like that) Shared the same shell. Nothing wrong with that Fox MX lid. Not too heavy either.

When it come to weight some of the higher end Airoh MX lids are coming in at very slose to or even under 1kg.

This is my Enduro helmet. To convert it from DH to Enduro I simply take out the little foam bit in the chin guard that stops mud, instects and fecal matter going into my mouth.

Thank goodness for that. At least I can still hang with the cool kids!

On a serious note though. I tried an XL Fox Rampage and it was tight. I tried a L Fox V2 and it felt looser that the Rampage so that's the route I went. Not as much ventilation as a DH specific lid but I haven't had any issues with weight and it was used at Masters where It was worn for 4 days in a row without any neck tiredness issues. I have changed the padding to XL though for a little bit more room.

Not sure I would pedal n Enduro up stage with it though.... Will strap the XC lid to my hydration pack for that!

Edit: I saw one of those Airoh DH lids and they are VERY nice!! Priced at close to R4k though.... not in my budget unfortunately :(

Haha. Ok Ok. Was just saying. When I had my moto I was strongly considering just getting one for DH and moto. But then the repair bills started coming in and i jettisoned the moto quick like.

Cam chain, valves. Basically rebuilt the top of the motor. 6k later. Plus I live 50km from the closest place to ride so I decided to chuck it in and buy a plane ticket for Geneva rather.
