Today was quite a learning curb. I forgot to factor in that carbs aren't as calorie dense as fat, so I landed up cutting out a little too much fat at meals so ended up being rather hungry most of today. After today and logging everything I ate (literally), I see that the ratios will be 15/15/70 more or less and I'm still eating at least 200g of fat per day. (With today being the exception.)

HMT (and any other myfitnesspal users out there) I need your help!

It looks as though you have managed to dial in your KJ vs Cal settings on myfitnesspal. I have gone to settings and changed mine to reflect KJ but whenever I want to add a new food it only allows me to input Calories. Is there any way to change that so when inputting a new food it comes up as KJ and not Cal?

Or do you simply do the conversion and input the KJ value when it requests Cals? Hope this ramble makes sense.

Have you tried changing it on web? (under settings)

Was that video added to the dropbox link?

No, sorry. We had a power failure on the night and it slipped my mind. Will ask my wife to copy it across tonight, thanks P.A.K for reminding me.

I'm really struggling with eating more carbs, I'm constantly hungry! Quite frustrating.

I convert to Calories, you just divide kJ by 4.2. I only input my own food though if I can't find it on their database or if the foods use net carbs and not total carbs.

Thanks guys, did a double check and I assumed that when clicking on metric ie. cms and kgs instead of inches and pounds it would include KJ as opossed to Cal - clearly it does not.

I just find that some of the food on the database does not tie up with the labels I have on my foods so prefer inputting my own info. Although based on that Woolies Mackerel nutrition content the database may be more accurate!

Re. The David vs Monsanto vid, I'll try upload it this weekend if I get a chance.

I also want to start a discussion on the issues raised from Food Inc and the Monsanto one. Some of the most important documentaries probably ever produced IMHO.

The other two I've just finished watching are The Future of Food and Doctored. I want to get both of these added to that Dropbox link if I can.

Food Inc should finish copying overnight, it is about 700MB big, but it is a full length documentary. tombeej, take any small file and see if you can copy it to that folder, if that works I will appreciate the upload. I will also ask my wife to copy Generation Rx tomorrow night - a doccie about Rittelin that is a must see for any parent.

I decided that I need to go see the doctor today after battling with a flu virus for weeks, and I have an important race in two weeks time.

While I'm there, can I ask a normal GP to take a blood sample and what do I need to look for when monitoring health on LCHF? Cholesterol I know, but what else?

Also, if he prescribes antibiotics, I think I should do a course of probiotics too, since I feel I have had generally poor health and immune system this year. Does one start with PBs after finishing ABs? Any brand I should specifically get?

So no need for something manufactured in a lab somewhere. Nature (as usual) already has a brilliant solution...
