I use a red flasher rear light. its a cheap checkers special. that said its heavy and ugly. however it is bright in dark and kept me safe for last year. id say money well spent and R20-50 when i say cheap.

Jip dale think I spotted you coming from stellies just before 10 ;-) saw 3 idiots skipping robots again and shouted at them that they should stop!!! C'mon guys respect is earned!!!

I saw a rider skip a peak traffic robot at 17:15 at Willowbridge. I felt like climbing out and moering him, he just shrugged me off. No respect for the road at all. No sympathy from my side if he gets knocked over.

Fraid I'm guilty of that, most of my winter gear is dark. Albeit with reflective striping. Other than that though I'll wear a bright helmet and light up properly, won't do an AM/dark ride without strobe lights.

didn't mention that some riders don';t do lights reflective strips with black, seen that a few times.

Just want to check on all the safety guru's on the hub.........

I ride (in the daylight, so not a light issue) my MTB on the pavement foot paths (next to the road), but at some point I get to a road, do I

a- jump down the pavement and line up with the cars at the robot and then wait for green, then cross, then jump back up on the pavement.

b- keep riding on the dirt path untill I look left, look right, then left again and cross the road

Met you years ago while doing the 99'er and then saw you briefly when you pitched before one of Die Burger training rides last year.

BTW I ride a red & white Specialized Tarmac- if that's of any help.
