Since this section is quite active with lots of cool / laid back people with good knowledge I thought of asking here:

What gloves would you guys recommend for trail riding? (as well as general do-it-all mtb gloves)

I used to have the First Ascent - Cutloose & really liked them. Those were fingerless.

They just wore out fairly quickly.

Motocross gloves ... the thin ones.

Fox and Flyride gloves work well for me ... actually the Flyrides are the best for me .... thin, comfy, tough and very well priced.

I ride normal afternoon rides with cheap fullfinger gloves like 661 gloves on special at cwc. And have a more race pair for long rides and raceish riding. But I still find the pair I have from tork craft for R70 does the day to day very well

I don't seem to find anything on the flyride.

Is the actual brand flyride?

Which moto dealer should stock these? Or would you suggest I pop into the first big moto shop I pass?

what ever glove you choose, just make sure it offers decent palm and wrist protection against abrasion.

Your hands are very often the first things to hit the ground when you bail. Giving them decent protection will prevent a simple bail turning into days worth of painful hands

also prefer MX style full finger with little to no palm padding

I generally use Troy Lee Designs gloves - available from some of the local MX shops

Raji or the 401 for summer.. next to no palm protection on the 401 .. almost feels like no gloves that why i like them in summer, alot more tactile too on the grips.
