Two weeks to go and feeling super exited, my second one so knowing the course will be a massive advantage this year. Hoping to smash my time down from 5:45 to around 5:25 or less. Been putting in the hard yards and stayed pretty much illness and injury free so holding thumbs to keep it together for another 13 days. Enjoying the taper for sure

I am feeling the same. Usually I dread taper time, but this year I am enjoying it.

My taper only starts after the race on Sunday... :/

After race ice cold beer...I can taste it already. For recovery of course.

Speaking of recovery, how long would you guys take off for recovery before getting back into training for IM in April?

My main goal is the full IM, so I'll be back in training on the Tuesday after the event. Everything leading up to full IM is just training.

I'm only doing a 1 week taper before the race.

Yeah also just doing a week's taper, just easing off by 25% of time, still doing some intensity till Wednesday, Thursday.

Friday Off, Saturday playing around with a warmup for Sunday.

My main goal is also IM, but the 70.3 will give me a good indication of where my fitness lies and I therefore want to give it a full go.

I am resting the week after 70.3, with a few massages thrown in and will be back on my bike on the next Sunday after the event.

I'm using Focus on the Finish line. Not sure if they have any more space.

Otherwise I know of people using a company called Trans-sport.

So with less then 2 weeks to go, woke up this morning, did a cycle and got to work and my chest is feeling a little tight!

Stressing a little! Already 1 Corenza C down, hitting Dischem hard on the way home!

This is less than ideal.........

Relax, stress is not good for the best medical support you can get...your immune system.

Breathe deep, think positive thoughts (training done and dusted, 2 weeks taper / rest going to make you super strong....)

Avoid touching public things, wash your hands lots, keep fingers away from face....

Good luck and hope you are just imagining that tight chest

Too early to start yakking about the weather? ......That's always a fun discussion and gets the first timers really worked up :whistling:

If you really want to get me worked up start talking about the weather and how difficult the run course is. THat'll really get my first-time nerves going
