I've used both and prefer the Bell by a country mile.

EDIT:

I had a serious off with the Bell and had it split in half on me and the noggin was 100% (well, 100% of what it was before the prang - for what it's worth :whistling: :whistling: :whistling: )

I have a slant (second one now), comfy and nice ventilation. They are quite strong, Landed on my head pretty hard. I did end up having a little nap trail side but at the end of the day the helmet did its job. I'm just as messed up as I was before the fall.

I have the Slant. Quality helmet, adjustable mechanism is very good. Comfortable. Well ventilated. Strong. Looks good (IMO), although a little more chunky than other helmets.

Thanks guys. I like the slant too.

They both have a 3 year crash replacement plan so even there. The Giro has more vents so surprised that they say it gets hot.

I have been leaning towards the Bell but wanted unbiased opinions.

Thanks very much, it would appear the Bell it is then.

Giro Rift I have in stock says 333g. When I weight it on the scale it weighs 320g.

Its a recreational helmet.

It has in mould construction with polycarbonate shell. In-mold construction fuses a tough polycarbonate outer shell with the helmet’s impact-absorbing foam liner. The fusion process allows us to sculpt better ventilation systems, so In-mold helmets can be lighter and cooler than traditional helmets.

RRP 920.00. I have in stock for 895.00

The Bell Slant is marked at 335g. i dont have one so cant weigh it.

Also boasts fusion in mould microshell and the Ergodial fit system.

R895.00

They in the same leaugue, just depends on what your preference is to styling and what colours are available.

I stock the Giro because it looks great and feels great on your head.

My choice would be on the Giro.

Crash replacement on Bell and Giro Helmets is 3 years from date of purchase with pay in of 30% of the replacement helmets price.

( sometimes the exact model is no longer available or price goes up i.e. R/$ fluctuations etc.)
