Trail/Enduro Bike Friendly DH race - Cascades KZN - Sat 8th June

Hey boys and girls ... for those of you who dont know ... the 3rd leg of the KZN Provincial series will be held at Cascades on Saturday 8th of June.

In an effort to try and promote the sport of DH a bit - every year we have one event on a nice basic track ... and try and get as may guys with Trail/Enduro bikes to come and enter.

All you need is a long sleeve top and a full face helmet.

Any bike will do as the track that will be used incorporates a portion of the trail used for the Enduro Event at the Cyclefest earlier in the year and then some of the descent portions of the current World Champs XC track ... There are no massive jumps - just flowing fun with some rocks and roots.

Although not taped - the track will probably be open for some sort of practice this weekend, but will be taped for "official" practice on Friday the 7th.

Grebel ... GeeCee ... get your harem together and pull in!

the track is shown in white in the image

Fixed it for you.

Sad but true :( even Mankele, which is probably the closest is still a 350km drive for me.

How high does this start Nige? Looks like its just below the table tops, heading down the routes section and joining treehouse via the old track just above the new switchbacks coming from Cascades towards English Rd...

Quite pedally, but can be nice and fast!

So who from GP is keen?? Ummmm...

I would be. I don't have a full face though. But that's just a good reason to get one :)

It would be nice if we could find a vehicle that could transport 3 or 4 of us + bikes et al.

And some kind of self catering nearby, that way it would be more affordable, if you could share in the costs.

Find a spot in Howick/ Karkloof (20 min from PMB and on the Midlands Meander so accom could be easier to find). Come for the weekend and ride Karkloof and Cascades...

Not sure dude. I haven't committed yet, but the idea is very appealing.

I would think leaving on the Friday morning or midday latest would be wise.

Sure! Get a group down here, I'll get a group of locals together and we'll go ride.
