Hey Hubbers. I am in 2 minds if I am able to do this type of race. Can anybody go and compete or are you pre selected? I have solid racing experience but are a bit in the dark about what the trail is like and if I even will manage from a technical view... And input or advise will be great. Thanks

The Slammer is at willowbridge in CT. I did all the normal events hosted by ppa and amarider here in and around CT. I dont have any experience in timed lap races like this. Should i skip this one and rather go and check it from the sideline?

I have zero experience with PPA and amarider type XCO in CT.

If you have done XCO type races (lapped cross country) then i say yes give it a go

What category would you be?

I've entered Sports category just for a laugh. 2 laps of awesome technical riding  .

Most of the very technical sections have chicken runs btw, but even with these its still fairly technical. If you've raced before I reckon you should be OK, unless they've changed the course since I was there earlier this year.

I will be the rookie in the sub vet. Have a look out for a rookie on a 26" spez epic. Thanks for the help

Beware ... it's addictive :)

Thanks. I'll be the guy in baggies on the Scott Scale 26" HT. Trying to keep up with the rest of the competitors :w00t: .

While trying not to do any spectacular face plants on drop offs. Lets hope we have a few dry days, cos that course will be treacherous in the wet.

It's actually a great course as an intro but as tough as hell on the legs and lungs, so be warned! Just go out and have fun and you will learn a lot, very quickly. Don't let the rain put you off, the course runs better in the wet IMO, more grip actually than in the dry and just so much fun to get wet and muddy! Have fun and keep to the 26 and baggies -I still do it every once in a while but sadly won't make it there this weekend.

It's so awesome how these events are always on a Saturday which cuts out anyone with a Saturday job... thinning the herd, or are they scared of the working class heroes?

Go and enjoy it.

You'll learn to suffer like you simply have never suffered in a PPA typoe race before. It is awesome.

Go ride the lap before if you can. Just so that it is familiar.

Wonder wether I should enter in Sports class for the laughs and the fun. tempting...
