So do 2014 with the Morewood and then go back in 2015 with a DH rig? :P :D

Yes oh voice of reason!

You could rent my DH bike..... Turner DHR, CCDB shock, Fox 40, ENVE rims with Chris Kiing hubs, Hope V2 brakes. Pretty much the most dialed Turner on the planet.

Hahaha. We haven't discussed price yet.

It is an interesting thought tho. My mate Nic and I run the same pedals, run our brakes on the same side and weigh more or less the same. (yes he is quite a lot taller/less fat than me)

We were discussing taking his trail bike and my DH bike the other day and doing a timeshare thing whilst over there.

For 2014 Ill take the Mbuzi. Just fitting an Angleset to help slacken the HA a bit to 66 degrees. Ill take the FF, brace and padding with :D

2015 Ill take a DH rig with.

Ja good plan.

There's loads of okes on AM bikes having a blast. Mostly brits. So you'll be fine n an Mbuzi. Saw a few out there this year.

I reckon I'm gonna take my Reign next year. I'm not hitting the big gaps anyway.

Regarding the angleset A mate of mine got an angleset from some british company. Not Chris King. The CK one clicks apparently which can be annoying. I'll try get the details for you. He reckons it's way better than the CK version cos it doesn't use cups. The offset is machined into the headset itself. The only negative is that you can't change the offset like you can on the CK you order the offset and that's what you get.

I don't think Chris King make the Angleset its by Cane Creek. A while back they did have a problem with the headset clunking and moving but they subsequently changed the cup depth etc so the gimble sits deeper. You shouldn't have any problems with the new ones and have the 1.5deg of adjustability.

I was looking at the Cane Creek one. Please send me the details when you can.

Make it happen.

There's only 4 paydays before we take deposits. 20 spots available......

in 2014 there will be a brand new lift on Pleney. and the trail builders really were on a push this year so if that's anything to go by 2014 will be EVEN BETTER!!

I think I missed it but how much is the deposit?

10k. We'll be using that to buy plane tickets and gauge actual interest. If I had a rand for every person who said they were IN and then pulled out a month later I'd have enough money to pay for everyone.

The cost for the trip will be between 22 and 24k. To keep the costs as low as possible we want to book flights in November.

The cost gets you

Flights

Accommodation

Lift Passes. (12 days)

Airport Shuttles Between Geneva and Morzine

Breakfast and Dinner

Guided riding.

The only other things you'll pay for is a visa, insurance (REQUIRED), and spending money.

At this stage we are well on track for 22k but you never know. Our prez might open his big ol mouth and the rand takes another pounding.

So for roughly what you'd pay JUST TO ENTER the epic you get a plane ticket to Geneva, to ride your bike in the Alps, Access to 24 ski lifts, catered accommodation, and access to riding that you simply cannot comprehend until you actually go there.

I'll start negotiating with the MD this evening...

As many who have invested may know, some things seem pricey, but once you get them, you wonder how you ever lived without them...

  • FiveTen Flats
  • Dropper Seat Posts
  • A trip to PDS

So for all those who have never been to PDS but are thinking of going next year...

do it!
