On the topic of Blizzard, who here has played World of Warcraft?

 

It's funny, I played Warcraft 2 and 3 back in the day, but never thought of getting WoW.

 

I played those too back in the day. But WoW just eludes me. Seems like a game which requires a degree of commitment and responsibility. Especially with fellow clan members. That coupled with the games ongoing cost makes me reluctant to even give the free trial a go. My brother plays it religiously. And if I watch him, it seems pretty complicated. I get why its addictive. But WoW will be another title I simply refuse to get hooked on. I think Dota is less demanding of ones time and a better option for casual gamers. There's also League of Legends too which are both great alternatives. They're both also free to play.

I saw some buddies toy around with an unofficial WOW server many years ago, but it looked boring.

 

Now Warcraft 2! I spent hours clicking on the various units to hear all their responses.

And of course Dune 2, for some reason I preferred it to Red Alert/C&C... perhaps I should try Dune Legacy when I finally have some leave.

Ah, back when Westwood Studios were in the game with RTS'. I didn't have it, but saw Dune 2 being played on a mates PC, although I had Dune 2000 on my Pentium 100.

 

I preferred the C&C series though. Tiberium Sun, Generals, Red Alert (missed out on Red Alert 2), and Red Alert 3 which was and still to this day is my favourite RTS.

Just a warning Destiny 2 is 75gb. 

Warcraft 3 is getting a remastered now so should be awesome.

Eish, and here's me with a 60 gig router, and I used 17 gigs to download D3 this month, and 6. something gigs to update BF4 :-/

Yeah, I love Warcraft and played WC2 back in the day when I was still dodging the principles belt and thought girls were stupid and smelly. 

 

I played WOW for about a year and a half back in 2005ish. I had lvl47 hunter Orc but managed to tame a much higher level beast with the help of a shaman that kept healing me while I was taming. It completely messed with other alliance players that thought they could take me on and then BAM I would summon this monster to destroy them.

I'm tempted to get WoW. I can get World of Warcraft: Battlechest 5 from Raru for R221. However, if I get it, then more than likely it will take up all my time at home (there goes time with my wife and daughter, time for gym, time for cycling etc out the window).

Wouldn't mind jamming it again, but from what I've read, it won't run nicely on Win 7 Pro.

Amen to that, you missed an amazing game in RA2 though, was really good.
