Any suggestions for a cheap pair of shoes to use on flats while I'm learning to ride my DH bike ?

Once I get the hang of it and are more confident I'll then wanna splash out on a more exspensive pair of shoes like 5ten or maybe the new giro chambers with spd compatibility

Not cheap, so if you have to go out and buy I wouldn't recommend them...

but I found Merrells (like the ones below) work quite well as they are grippy and the soles are pretty firm. So if you already have some, then try them.

Just get the 5.10's. Other shoes might be cheaper but they will last all of 3 months at which point yu will end up buyig 5.10's anyway.

My 5.10 are approaching retirement now. I think i've had them for 4 years.

Just get some skate shoes, Laki, DVS, Adio etc.

Bulletproof, good grip, comfy, good looking, made to be abused

Try Revolutions if there's a branch near you - they always have sick specials going - shoes for R350 :):)

Not

Wait till you come off at a bit of a speed and land on your toes....

I tried riding in those Vans slip-ons every BMXer in the 80's used to ride, not correct when you come pip and need to put your feet down
