CITEC system wheels use straight pull spokes which are fixed to the hub using our patented 'POWER-BLOCK' sleeve technology.

PATENTED TECHNOLOGY AGAINST SPOKE BREAKAGE

Internal aluminium nipples, constructed along the lines of our Power-Block hub sleeves, support the spoke. This reduces stress on the spoke where it enters the rim and again reduces the likelihood of a spoke breaking.

Thanks for the info.

Are those "power blocks" or whatever the spokes turn into replaceable as individual items i.e. if something had to happen to one and a spoke cannot be turned into it anymore?

Yup.

The only real risk I see is the alu nipple threading into the alu hub. CITEC supply a special lube to stop alu-alu microbonding.

Special tools are needed so the repair would happen at the CITEC agent closest to you in Switzerland.

I will do the SA stuff.

Impressive service

The website did not show a swiss dealer so I emailed them yesterday afternoon and got a reply the same day, there is a dealer located quite close (20 minutes) to where I live.

Thanks for your info and good luck with the product in SA

Thanks man!

I really like the company - it's realtively small so the service and interaction is quite personal.

I don't think I'll ever retire from this venture but doing something you're passionate about that earns you some weekend beer money is always nice...
