I have noticed the weather forecasts swinging wildly day by day for the 17th - they seem completely unreliable. As we get closer it shud get better. They're not talking of 2 degree lows anymore but a bit of rain has been thrown in.

Saw that, will only start looking at the weather a day or two before, will keep changing 'till then.

Hey everyone...I am looking for a lift / shared transport (will obv contribute to fuel cost / pay transport fee) for me and my bike from Cape Town to Willowmore for this year's TransBav and the back on Sunday. I got asked to join a team on Friday and would really like to go.

Thanks.

In terms of carbo-loading, how many beers should I be having on the Friday night... pre-event I usually stick with around 5/6, but I've never ridden this far before? Should I do things proportionally?

Mmmm, average ride = 75km....carbo loading for Trans = 15 beers.

Rather invert and go for 2, that is what we do

With 15 beers you will drop the Lite from your name and leave loads of Chunky's on MAC :whistling:

Two definately won't do... I'll definately be needing some dutch courage  Will have to stick with my tried and tested formulae

One day when I am big I am actually going to train properly and be properly prepared for a race

(I've also been saying this for years)

Obviously the further you go the more beer you need. We can watch the Sharks lose to the Lions on Friday night

Got chicken pox 10 days ago. Doctor said that there is not a chance in hell that I'm riding. And to make matters worse I got a cold now as well. So much for my Trans this year.
