Be aware of going to a shop and coming out with the wrong size bike-many have. It is better to go to a mainstream shop that does a good fit out. Two that come to mind are Cyclelab Fourways who will not let you leave with the wrong size bike as i experienced) or Sportsbasement Rivonia who have a fit out guy in-house.

Buying online often leads to buying the wrong size bike such as I did and many on the hub. rather buy locally and save yourself the hassle of import duties and wrong sizes.

Or if you're Peach, you take a full DH bike with you to the alps. It gets stolen. And you end up filling your bike box with FiveTens and smuggling them across customs

Good man , wish he had brought stock for JHB :w00t:

I bought my son a 24 inch Silverback MTB last year. R2200 at Linden Cycles, R2000 at Johnsons Cycles, R1800 at Finish Line Cycles. Moral of the story - head East for good prices and service.

And I'm sure they're even cheaper in the far east (where they're made) ;)

I stay in Randburg and if I'm helping someone buy a new complete bike my first stop is always Clint at Finish Line.

So, you get nailed on importing a bike? Any other ways to bring in bikes that we don't get here? Through LBS maybe?

I am now referring to Enduro (140mm +) machines here... what are our options?
